Vintage Taylor Barometer. USA. Late 20. Century. Decorated barometer in light wood with brass details and an English-language dial (Stormy/Unsettled/Fair). The barometer is used to measure atmospheric air pressure and predict the weather forecast. It measures the weight of the air to indicate whether the weather will improve (high pressure) or deteriorate (low pressure). Low air pressure (often indicates turbulent or rainy weather) High air pressure (often indicates clear and dry weather).
