Vintage round Barometer. Denmark, mid 20th Century Round barometer in mahogany-finished frame with brass hanging ring and brass lunette. The barometer is used to measure the atmospheric air pressure and forecast the weather. Measures the weight of the air to indicate whether the weather will improve (high pressure) or worsen (low pressure). Low air pressure (often indicates turbulent or rainy weather) High air pressure (often indicates clear and dry weather).
