Vintage barometer with thermometer. Denmark, mid 20th century barometer and thermometer mounted in a wooden frame with a gilded edge, originally sold through Andreas Hansen Clock & Optik on Amagerbrogade in Copenhagen. The barometer is used to measure atmospheric air pressure and predict weather forecasts. It measures the weight of the air to indicate whether the weather will improve (high pressure) or deteriorate (low pressure). Low air pressure (often indicates turbulent or rainy weather) High air pressure (often indicates clear and dry weather).
