Vintage Barometer with Zodiac sign. Mid 20th century Round barometer in brass with decorative ring featuring the 12 zodiac signs, mounted in a dark wooden frame with a twisted hanging cord. The barometer is used to measure atmospheric air pressure and predict weather forecasts. It measures the weight of the air to indicate whether the weather will improve (high pressure) or worsen (low pressure). Low air pressure (often indicating turbulent or rainy weather) High air pressure (often indicating clear and dry weather).
