This is an original woodcut engraving (Xylography.) cut out from an original Danish newspaper from the 1800 century, which was called Illustreret Familie Journal. On the back of the frame is a cut out of the original front page, date and title etc. Added to document the origin of the engraving for posterity. Mounted in a gold-plated wooden frame and glass. Size with frame: Approx. 30,2x24,2 cm. Condition: see pictures.

Nannina de’ Medici (1448–1493) was a Florentine noblewoman and member of the powerful Medici family during the Renaissance. She was the younger sister of Lorenzo de’ Medici, also known as Lorenzo il Magnifico, who was one of the most important political and cultural figures in Florence. Nannina was married to Bernardo Rucellai, who came from another wealthy and influential Florentine family. The marriage strengthened the connection between the Medici and Rucellai families. She lived in the center of Florence's political and cultural elite. Nannina is particularly interesting as an example of how noblewomen's marriages were used to create and strengthen political and social alliances.
