Holga Reinhard (1853-1902). Naturalist oil painting of a wood path. Denmark. From the late 19. century Painted on paper in a finely painted, detailed naturalist style. The motif shows a sandy wood path that runs straight through a dense alley of tall beech- and spruce trunks. The dark, deep woodland floor is held up against the light surface of the stone and the scattered sunlight in the grass.
Framed in a gilded wooden frame with carved leaf decoration and silver-gilded inner list. Signed: HR

Holga Reinhard was a Danish painter, pupil of Vilhelm Kyhn and later the Kunstskolen for Kvinder under the Kunstakademiet. She exhibited regularly at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition for nearly two decades (1883-1901) and is represented in Weilbach's Kunstnerleksikon.
