Henning Koppel for Georg Jensen barometer. Denmark, 1980s. Round barometer in polished brass with a black dial and gilded script, designed by Henning Koppel for Georg Jensen. Minimalist Scandinavian design with a kPa/mbar scale. The barometer is used to measure atmospheric air pressure and predict the weather forecast. It measures the weight of the air to indicate whether the weather will improve (high pressure) or deteriorate (low pressure). Low air pressure (often indicates turbulent or rainy weather) High air pressure (often indicates clear and dry weather).
