The Danish dagger period was a period in the agricultural Stone Age, approximately 2400-1800 B.C. The period is especially known for the excellent and carefully crafted flint daggers, which could be used as tools, weapons, and status symbols. Society became more hierarchical, and trade and contact between different areas grew. The thin-bladed flint axes could be very sharp and effective, even though they were made of flint. They are typically in the smaller size and none have been found with a handle, so it is assumed that such axes were used for f.eks. pre-processing of wood etc. Before felling.
