The Danish dagger period was a period in the agricultural Stone Age, approximately 2400-1800 BC. The period is particularly known for the beautiful and carefully crafted flint daggers, which could be used as tools, weapons, and status symbols. Society became more hierarchical, and trade and contact between different areas grew. The thin-bladed flint axes could be very sharp and effective, even though they were made of flint. They are typically in the smaller size and none have been found with a handle, so it is assumed that axes of this type were used for e.g. pre-treatment of wood etc. Before felling.
