Danish Stone Age. Rarely sought-after Double-Bladed Axe with socket in rock (kantet type) Axe with bent blade and rounded bent neck. Period: Tragtbægerkultur, Younger Stone Age Age: 4000-2800 BC.

Provenance: The collection of Kurt Petersen, old sword illustrator and conservator at Nationalmuseet (Kalundborg) Kurt gave the axe to his son as a gift. Kurt's son had a large fine collection of old swords and antiques and this axe was one of the oldest objects in the collection (Kurt's grandson inherited it after his son and she has sold it to us.) So this is the first time this axe comes into the market.

Find location: The Kalundborg area has been mentioned, but it cannot be entirely confirmed.

Literature: Younger Stone Age by P.V.Glob.

Size approximately: 14x8,5x4,5cm.

Condition: The axe is in very fine condition, see pictures.
