British P1888 Type 1 Lee Metford Bayonet

British P1888 Type 1 Lee Metford Bayonet. This is an incredibly rare Type 1 P1888 Lee Metford Rifle bayonet. Very few of these were made before the Type II was introduced. The reason for the rapid design change was that the placement of the three rivets resulted in the grip splitting during use in the field, so the Type II was introduced with only two rivets.
