Axel Salomonsen (1933-1977). Letter holder/pen holder. Ebony wood with silver inlays. Denmark. From the 1960s. Open holder for visiting cards, letters or bills, made by Danish goldsmith Axel Salomonsen. The holder is made of dark stained wood with rounded corners and bears Salomonsen's characteristic silver inlaid monogram; a stylized S combined with a needle and dots. The back is stamped STERLING. Presumably from the 1960s, in line with Salomonsen's known series of desk accessories in ebony wood and silver.
