Art deco Genia Barometer with Thermometer. Denmark, early to mid 20th Century barometer and thermometer mounted on an oval wooden panel in a gilded brass frame, originally sold through AD. Krogh. The barometer is used to measure atmospheric air pressure and forecast the weather. It measures the weight of the air to indicate whether the weather will improve (high pressure) or deteriorate (low pressure). Low air pressure (often indicating turbulent or rainy weather) High air pressure (often indicating clear and dry weather).
