This ship's compass is produced by the Danish company Hallgren in Copenhagen. The compass bears the engraved serial number 2855.

The compass is constructed in brass with a compass rose marked with the Danish world corner abbreviations N, NO, O, SO, S, SV, V, NV and degree division from 0 to 360. The dial is stamped "HALLGREN COPENHAGEN" with the corresponding logo. The instrument is filled with damping liquid, which can be seen from the air bubble in the glass, and sits in a cardan suspension, which holds the compass horizontally regardless of movement. It is mounted in a frame of light wood with black-painted bones.

Measurements: frame approx. 22,5x22,5x12 cm.
