Antique Danish Officer's Dragoon Helmet, Model 1864

Original Danish dragoon helmet M/1864 for officers, made with a black lacquered leather body and metal fittings. The helmet is fitted with the characteristic high comb, front plate, and star-shaped sunburst bearing the Danish coat of arms in a central medallion. Scale chinstrap with rosettes at the attachment points.

Model 1864 was introduced during the Schleswig period and represents the classic Danish cavalry helmet of the mid-19th century. The officer’s version is distinguished by its finer craftsmanship and detailing.

Provenance: From the collection of antiques dealer Jørgen Zoll, who had the helmet restored by Seifert in the late 20th century.
