Older stoneware vase with ox's blood glaze and spout. Scandinavia. Early/mid 20th century
The vase has a sturdy, rounded body that runs up into an unusual split/divided neck opening. The glaze is a deep, rich ox's blood red (sang de boeuf) with a prominent green stripe that runs down the sides of the neck - a glazing technique associated with the Scandinavian ox's blood tradition. The base has an unglazed footring without a visible stamp or mark; manufacturer unknown.
Dimensions: approx. 10,5x25,8 cm. Condition: see pictures.
