Antique Faroese pilot whale fishing hook. From the beginning of the 1900s. The fishing hook from the Faroe Islands was part of a fishing set consisting of a harpoon tip, a spear tip and a hook. Ideally, there is also a fishing knife in a fishing set, however, these knives are typically small works of art that are inherited in Faroese families, where the harpoons, spears and hooks are objects of use and therefore less common for sale than the knives.
