The shooting record book was a small book that servants were required to acquire and keep. The shooting record books existed from 1833 to 1921, when they were abolished. From 1867 it was forbidden to write about abilities and behavior in the shooting record book.

Cowpox Inoculation Certificate. No. 37
Jens Johansen
born in Sóndersóe and living in Sóndersóe – 2 years old, is signed by me, year 1821 on September 11, inoculated with cowpox.
By careful inspection between the 7th and 9th day after inoculation
I have found all the signs that show them to be the genuine cowpox: they were whole and undamaged, filled with a clear liquid, depressed in the middle, and surrounded by a red circle;
have properly gone through the real cowpox, which reassures
for smallpox in the future; which hereby, on honor and conscience,
witnessed by …… on September 18, 1821
