Danish Stone Age. Rare, sought-after Double-edged Battle Axe with a shaft hole in rock (angular type). Axe with flared blade and rounded flared neck. Period: Funnel Beaker Culture, New Stone Age Age: 4000-2800 BC. 

Provenance: From the collection of Kurt Petersen, antique illustrator and conservator at the National Museum (Kalundborg). Kurt gave the axe to his son as a gift. Kurt's son had a large and fine collection of antiques and this axe was one of the oldest objects in the collection (Kurt's granddaughter inherited it from her son and she has sold it to us.) So this is the first time this axe has come up for sale.

Location: The Kalundborg area has been mentioned, however it cannot be fully confirmed.
