People cultivated crops, kept cattle, sheep and pigs, but also hunted and fished. The culture is named after its characteristic pottery with a funnel-shaped opening. The Corded Ware people built large burial mounds such as burial grounds and megalithic tombs. Many different axes from the culture have been found.
